Learning and Development
Dumfries and Galloway Public Protection Partnership advocates ongoing training and professional development as essential elements to a safe, effective and skilled workforce.
Multiagency training is central in supporting professionals to understand their roles, responsibilities, the procedures of each agency involved in public protection, and in developing a shared understanding of assessment and decision-making practices.
Dumfries and Galloway Public Protection Partnership provides a multiagency learning and development programme for all agencies in Dumfries and Galloway who work with children, young people and adults at risk. The multiagency training programme is coordinated and developed by the Dumfries and Galloway Public Protection Learning and Development Subcommittee.
This is a live calendar - reviewed and updated throughout 2022 with new L&D oppertunites added on a regular basis.

During online training, please be mindful that the content of some courses can be very emotive. During 2022, learning and development opportunities will be delivered online (with the return of Face-to-Face delivery being constantly reviewed, in line with Government guidelines). Facilitators will not be present in the training room in the traditional way, and this may mean you are not able to discuss any concerns you may have as you would previously have done. Please consider this when booking onto any courses and please contact PublicProtectionTraining@dumgal.gov.uk with any concerns following the event and we will try to connect you with the facilitator or a relevant professional to deal with your concerns.
